I have made a Pinterest board recently. It is full of golden colour and sights that revive emotions of comfort and home despite the fact the weather will evidently be turning for the worse now.
Having just shared about the wonders of being outdoors I just wanted to encourage those readers living in the UK especially In the midlands area that Bluebell walk in Shrawley Wood is well worth an afternoon visit!
It would also be lovely for students new to the area, Internationals and tourists visiting Worcestershire to experience as it is quintessentially British, and really the best of England outdoors!
The sounds of birds, lambs, and bees is just so other than what you normally hear, and the smells!!!

Christmas, Easter, Birthdays, Weddings, Baby showers and anniversaries are all moments when gifts are so significant. They do not always take the form of a box of chocolates or an x-box game. I have often found myself needing to be creative about gifts with wanting to give something individual, thoughtful and desired.
Sometimes I have turned to an act of service lifting a load with the skills that I have. That is however quite rare an opportunity and I always like to give something more than just a help, as whatever it is, my hearts true desire is to give them the feeling that they are cherished. Missing a Friend or a Family member can be a soulful affair. It is said that one should see the positives, the delight that you have someone to care about that much. You have found these wonderful and special people. However that does not change the reality that when you think of them there can be a pang. The cliché of missing them is like missing a part of yourself is not far off. These friends bring different parts of you forward, likewise you do this for them, and this synergy is a joyful thing to savour.
Well Easter is only just finished and finally there is some warmer sunlight peeping through, hopefully spring is on its way?!
Over Easter I was thinking about what holiday gift I might be able to give to the family when we meet together. A homemade gift seemed to me to be the best plan and being that my Mum cherishes all feeling of occasion and family gathering; this gave me an idea of how to bless her and make something enjoyable for everyone. Cake!
A Simnel cake is traditionally made for Easter to celebrate New Life. A lush fruit cake topped in marzipan, decorated with flowers or 11 round marzipan balls representing the apostles minus Judas.
So great! Full of meaning, Mum would love that and everyone else adores marzipan, only one problem I don’t have the money nor time to create the original recipe.
I looked into the cupboards there was a few raisins, several tins of pineapples, and half a bag of self-raising flour, a wee bit of sugar, honey and eggs. No butter, not enough eggs and not enough fruit. So I became daring and chose a muffin mixture recipe for my cake: carrot cake muffin with small pineapple chunks. It tasted great! Here is the recipe:
